How we got started
It all started at a backyard birthday party. We got to talking about Nick’s love of horror/slasher movies and Andy’s broadcasting degree. The idea was thrown out that we should do a podcast. After all, it was 2020 and there wasn’t much to do with everyone generally staying at home due to COVID-19. But what would we focus on? What would we call it? Nick said that the “best” slasher flicks were all made between 1977 and 1988. What if we made a podcast that explored the movies from this time period? We could educate people about some of the forgotten campy classics and bring our own humorous spin to it. Thus, SlashU was born! Class is in session.
We’re not experts. We’re just a couple of regular dudes who love watching Slasher movies and then picking them apart for your listening pleasure.

Meet Nick & Andy
Nick -
Pretty Simple. I dig writing, skateboarding, animal welfare and music made between 1976-1984. Stoked to have been recognized in quite a few festivals across this great land for screenplays I have written (a total of three - all horror based). Soon, I want to make a documentary on the history of the casserole dish.
Thanks for hanging with us at Slash U.
Andy -
I grew up in far northern Wisconsin in a very small, rural town. I went to college at Marquette University in Milwaukee and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Communication Studies and Broadcasting. I’ve spent the last 15 years working in the Insurance Industry. I live in Milwaukee with my wife Cheryl and our two cats Monty and Fritz and our dog Edie. Video games and beer are life.
